Why a poodle? The Poodle is HIGHLY INTELLIGENT and one of the most trainable breeds. Pleasant, happy and sensitive. Perky and lively. Demanding and delightful. Very amusing and clever. Like to be with his/her people. The Poodle is an elegant, lively, small dog with a profuse, but well-groomed and clipped curly coat. The ears are long, flat and wide, lying close to the head. The head is long. The dark, almond shaped eyes have an alert expression. The Poodle has a delightful, springy gait.
The Poodles has been known throughout Western Europe for over 400 years. Its origin is controversial. Despite the claims of several other countries, France has now been officially recognized as its country of origin. The name "Poodle" probably derives from the German word "Pudel", which means: one who plays in water.

~All About Poodles~
POODLES do not shed and are hypoallergenic. People who have allergies to dogs and cats can usually own a POODLE without difficulty. Because POODLES have no body dander, fur or odor, they are perfect gentlemen and ladies in your home. Mild mannered, yet protective, they are great family watchdogs, yet wonderful with children. Poodles are among the most intelligent dogs you can own. Originally from Germany, POODLES were used as hunting dogs because of their sharp minds and quick responses.
Poodles come in many different sizes and colors.
Toy Poodle - is the smallest. Up to 10 inches tall, weighs 3-10lbs.
Miniature Poodle - 11-15 inches tall, weighs 10-20lbs.
Moyen Poodle - 15-20 inches tall, weighs 20-35lbs.
Standard Poodle - 20+ inches tall, 35-75lbs
Head and Expression
(a) Eyes-- very dark, oval in shape and set far enough apart and positioned to create an alert intelligent expression.
(b) Ears-- hanging close to the head, set at or slightly below eye level.
(c) Skull-- moderately rounded, with a slight but definite stop. Cheekbones and muscles flat.
(d) Muzzle-- long, straight and fine, with slight chiseling under the eyes. Strong without lippiness.
Body
(a) Chest deep and moderately wide with well sprung ribs.
(b) The loin is short, broad and muscular.
(c) Tail straight, set on high and carried up, docked of sufficient length to insure a balanced outline.
Feet
The feet are rather small, oval in shape with toes well arched and cushioned on thick firm pads. Nails short but not excessively shortened. The feet turn neither in nor out.
